Radiator Pressure Cap for Mitsubishi Cooling System
This small part keeps your engine cool and safe. A quality radiator cap seals the neck, holds the right pressure, and manages coolant flow to the overflow bottle. With correct pressure, the coolantβs boiling point rises, heat is controlled, and your drive stays reliable. Perfect for daily use or long trips .
Why you need it οΈ
Without a tight, calibrated cap, coolant can boil early, air can enter the system, and the heater may go weak. A good cap prevents leaks, stabilizes temperature, and protects hoses, pump, and radiator.
How it works
A spring-loaded seal locks pressure inside the radiator. When pressure exceeds spec, the valve opens to the overflow tank; during cool-down, the vacuum valve draws coolant back. This cycle keeps the system full and air-free.
When it fails (symptoms and risks) β οΈ
Overheating, frequent top-ups, collapsed upper hose after cooldown, white crust near the neck, and smell of coolant. Long term: warped head, blown gasket, and costly repairs. Replace if the spring is weak or the rubber gasket is cracked.
