Upper Radiator Support Insulator for Lancer Family
Why this part is needed ️
This small insulator (top radiator mount bushing) isolates the radiator from body vibration. It keeps the core centered, protects plastic tanks and necks, and stops noise. On daily roads or rough streets, it prevents metal-to-metal contact so your cooling system stays quiet and secure.
How it works ️
The insulator sits between the upper support and the radiator locating pin. Its heat‑resistant rubber absorbs shock while a snug pocket holds the pin to keep the radiator aligned with the fan shroud and hoses. Proper seating reduces stress on the filler neck, prevents chafing, and maintains airflow across the core for stable engine temperature.
What happens if it’s broken ⚠️
Worn or cracked bushings cause clunks, squeaks, and radiator movement. Misalignment can make the fan touch the shroud, wear hoses, crack the radiator neck, and create coolant leaks or overheating. AC performance can drop at idle due to poor airflow.
Tech tips
Replace in pairs, clean brackets, and lightly lube pins with silicone grease. Torque support bolts evenly. Choose OE-grade elastomer for long life in heat and coolant vapors.
