Brake Master Cylinder Rebuild Kit — MR449616
Restore safe, confident braking
This high-precision kit renews the hydraulic core of your braking system. Over time, heat and moisture age the internal seals, causing a soft or sinking pedal. Refreshing the internals restores firm pedal feel, proper pressure, and consistent stopping distance—without replacing the whole cylinder body.
How it works
The pedal pushes a piston that pressurizes brake fluid to calipers/wheel cylinders. Fresh primary and secondary cups, return spring, piston, and dust boots seal the bore, control reservoir ports, and maintain pressure. EPDM rubber resists DOT 3/4 fluid and high temperatures for long service life.
Why you need it ️
Seal wear lets fluid bypass the piston, wasting pedal travel and reducing braking power. Rebuilding with MR449616 restores factory-spec sealing and pedal height, often at a fraction of full replacement cost.
When it’s failing ⚠️
Spongy or long pedal, pedal sink at stops, uneven braking, warning lamp, or dampness around the pushrod area . Ignoring these signs risks brake fade, overheated rotors, longer stops, and loss of control.
Install tips
Inspect and clean the bore; lightly deglaze if needed. Pre-lube parts with clean fluid, assemble in correct order, and bench-bleed before fitting. After installation, bleed all wheels, keep contaminants out, and use the specified fluid only.
