Rear Tailgate Latch Striker Plate for Mitsubishi SUV ?
This small steel striker on the back door is the “target” the latch grabs every time you close the tailgate. It is needed to keep the rear door locked tight, centered, and rattle-free, even on rough roads. A good striker also helps the door seal press evenly, reducing dust and water entry.
How It Works ⚙️
When you shut the tailgate, the latch claw rotates and clamps onto the striker loop/plate. The striker’s hardened surface guides the latch into position, then holds it under tension so the door stays fully closed. Proper alignment prevents bouncing, squeaks, and premature latch wear.
