Transfer Range Position Switch for 4WD Mitsubishi SUVs

This sensor tells the vehicle exactly which transfer range you selected (2H, 4H, 4HLc, 4LLc). It feeds the ECU, dash lamps, and front axle clutch logic, keeping your Super Select/Easy Select system honest. Built to OEM accuracy (ref: MR410851), oil‑sealed, and heat‑resistant.

Why you need it ✅

Correct range confirmation prevents driveline wind‑up, enables center diff/axle engagement, and keeps safety interlocks working. It also turns the 4WD indicators on at the right time, so you know the system is truly engaged.

How it works ⚙️

A spring‑loaded plunger rides on the transfer shift rail. When the lever moves, internal contacts open/close circuits. The ECU reads those signals to command clutch packs and display the proper 4WD light. Threaded body with a sealing washer for leak‑free installation.

When it fails

Flashing 4WD lamp, wrong range shown, no 4L engagement, intermittent 4WD after water/mud, ABS/ASC warnings, or harsh shifting. Prolonged faults can stress the transfer case or leave you stuck in the wrong mode.

Tech tips

Thread in carefully, replace the crush washer, torque to spec, clean the connector, and verify continuity per pinout. Clear any stored codes and road‑test in all ranges.
