Air Cleaner Housing Assembly for Mitsubishi SUVs

Why this part is needed ️

The air cleaner housing is the sealed box that holds your engine’s air filter. It shields the filter from heat, water, and dust, keeps intake noise low, and guides clean air to the throttle body or turbo. A tight, factory-grade box prevents unfiltered air from entering, protects cylinders and piston rings, stabilizes idle, and helps fuel economy. If your original box is cracked or missing clips, replace it to restore proper sealing and performance.

How it works ️

Outside air enters through the intake duct, passes into the housing, through the filter element, then flows to the mass airflow area and intake manifold. The box uses molded channels and gaskets to prevent leaks, a resonator to reduce roar, and drain features to purge light moisture. Correct airflow path improves sensor readings and keeps the mixture precise for smooth power.

What happens if it’s broken ⚠️

Cracks or warped lids let dirt bypass the filter, causing fast engine wear, noisy intake, poor acceleration, high fuel use, and possible Check Engine lights due to MAF contamination. Loose mounts can rattle, split hoses, and draw hot under‑bonnet air, reducing torque. Off-road, a damaged box risks dust ingestion and mud splash inside the filter area.

Install tips ✅

Use a new filter, inspect all seals, reconnect breather lines and sensors, and tighten clamps evenly. Clear any debris from ducts and ensure the lid tabs fully lock.
