This kit keeps the rear parking brake shoes correctly seated inside the drum-in-hat section of the rear discs. Fresh clips and springs stop rattle, prevent uneven shoe wear, and restore a firm handbrake feel. It’s the smart fix during rear brake service when old hardware is rusty, stretched, or missing.
How it works ⚙️
Precision springs, retainers, pins, and anti-rattle clips hold each shoe against the backing plate with the right preload. When you apply the brake, the actuator spreads the shoes to grip the drum; the springs retract them cleanly when released. Stable hardware maintains clearances, keeps the wheel free-rolling, and ensures even contact for consistent stopping.
What happens if it’s broken ⚠️
Expect dragging wheels, hot discs, poor parking brake hold, squeal, vibration, and fast shoe wear. Loose parts can score the drum surface or disturb ABS tone rings. Replace at any sign of corrosion, lost tension, or noise.
Tech tips
