How it works ⛽
Inside the tank, a float rides on the fuel surface. The float arm moves a rheostat (variable resistor). As resistance changes, the cluster interprets the signal as fuel level. Quality contacts, calibrated sweep, and a sealed harness deliver stable readings in heat, vibration, and ethanol blends.
What happens if it’s broken
Common symptoms: gauge stuck on full/empty, erratic needle, false low-fuel warnings, or sudden stalling from miscalculated range. Long term, running low unnoticed can overheat the pump, trigger warning lamps, and corrupt trip data.
