EVAP emission control chamber – OE MR312385

Keep fuel vapors in check and your MIL off. This EVAP chamber (charcoal canister) stores gasoline fumes from the tank and feeds them to the intake when driving, cutting smells and emissions . OE-grade construction and media ensure stable tank pressure, clean purge flow, and reliable readiness monitors.

Why this part is needed

It prevents raw vapor from venting to air, improves idle quality, and helps pass inspection. Correct EVAP operation also reduces refueling splashback and nozzle click-off.

How it works βš™οΈ

Porous activated carbon traps vapors while parked. When the ECU commands purge, vacuum draws the stored fuel back to the engine. Integrated vent/rollover valves and robust housing manage pressure and keep liquid fuel out. Quick-connect ports link tank, purge line, and fresh-air vent.

What happens if it’s broken ⚠️

  • Fuel smell near rear of car or after refuel β›½
  • Hard start/rough idle after filling up
  • Pump shuts off early; tank hisses
  • Check engine light: P0440/P0441/P0442/P0455/P0456
  • Crumbled charcoal can clog purge lines and valves

Service notes

Mounts near the fuel tank; plug-and-play replacement. Inspect hoses and vent valve; replace cracked lines. Clear EVAP codes and run a drive cycle to verify repair.
