Upper Radiator Support Insulator for Mitsubishi
This rubber mount (OEM ref MR239638) cushions the radiator at the upper support. It isolates vibration, keeps the core centered, and stops metal‑to‑metal contact. Result: quieter ride, correct fan shroud alignment, and longer radiator, hose, and header tank life.
Why you need it
Road shocks, engine torque, and off‑road use load the cooling module. The insulator absorbs impact and thermal expansion, preventing stress cracks in plastic tanks and tube joints, and reducing NVH in the cabin.
How it works ️
A molded elastomer grommet with a sleeve sits between the radiator locating pin and the upper bracket. When bolted, it creates a compliant “sandwich” that holds the radiator steady yet allows tiny movement to protect the core.
If it’s worn or broken ⚠️
Expect front‑end rattles or clunks, fan shroud rub, seepage at the tank crimp, and rising temps at speed. Visual signs: cracked or flattened rubber and excessive play when you rock the radiator by hand. Replace in pairs and check lower cushions.
Tech tips ❄️
Support the radiator, move over any sleeve/spacer, torque to spec, and avoid petroleum on rubber. A small dab of silicone grease helps installation and prevents squeaks.
