Radiator Cooling Fan Motor Assembly ❄️
This electric motor drives the engine bay cooling fan to keep coolant and under-hood temperature in the safe zone. It is needed whenever airflow through the radiator is not enough—traffic jams, towing, hot weather, or slow off-road driving. Without strong fan assist, even a healthy cooling system can struggle.
How it works ⚙️
The motor receives power from the vehicle control circuit/relay and spins the fan blades. As the fan pulls air through the radiator and A/C condenser, heat is removed faster, stabilizing coolant temperature and helping the air conditioner maintain cold output. Many setups run at different speeds depending on temperature and A/C demand.
What happens if it fails
A weak or seized motor may cause overheating at idle, rising temperature in stop-and-go, poor A/C performance, noisy grinding, blown fuses, or intermittent fan operation. Continued driving with a non-working fan can lead to coolant boil-over, warped cylinder head, damaged head gasket, and expensive engine repairs.
