Fog Lamp Control Switch — Dash Mounted Replacement
Why this part is needed
Restore safe night and bad‑weather driving with a factory‑style fog light switch. A tired button can cause no lights, stuck lights, or random cutouts. Replacing it brings back reliable control, protects the harness from overheating, and keeps the interior look OEM. Better visibility in fog, rain, or snow means calmer driving and fewer surprises ️.
How it works
The switch sends a low‑current command to the fog‑lamp relay. Press to latch on; the relay then feeds the lamps through a fused 12V line, keeping heavy current out of the cabin. Release to open the circuit. A backlight and status LED confirm operation at a glance. The body clips into the dash aperture and connects to the factory plug for true plug‑and‑play service.
What happens if it’s broken
Worn contacts can arc or loosen, causing intermittent fogs, dead backlight, blown fuses, or lamps stuck on that drain the battery. A cracked housing may jam the button or feel mushy. Driving without working fog lights reduces edge contrast and increases glare, especially in mist, risking longer stopping distance and inspection issues ️.
Tech notes
