Hood Release Cable Assembly ??

This spare part is the link between the cabin release handle and the front hood latch. You need it to open the hood safely for oil checks, coolant top-ups, battery service, and emergency roadside repairs. Without a smooth working cable, even a perfect latch cannot be released on time.

How It Works βš™οΈ

When you pull the interior handle, the inner steel wire slides inside a protected outer sleeve. That pulling force moves the latch lever and frees the hood catch. The sleeve keeps the pull straight, reduces friction, and protects the wire from heat, water, and dirt.

What Happens If It Fails ❗

A stretched, rusty, or snapped cable usually makes the handle feel loose or very stiff. The hood may not pop up, leaving you locked out of the engine bay. In severe cases, the cable can bind, causing partial release and an unsafe hood that won’t latch correctly after closing.

Technician Tip βœ…

Replace at the first sign of fraying or heavy drag, and ensure correct routing to avoid sharp bends that shorten cable life.
