Front Stabilizer Bar Bushing (Suspension)
This suspension bushing is a small but critical part that clamps the front stabilizer (sway) bar to the chassis. Its job is to stop metal-to-metal contact and keep the bar centered while the vehicle leans in corners ?. Even though it looks simple, it directly affects steering feel, comfort, and safety.
Why this part is needed
During turning, braking, and rough-road driving, the stabilizer bar twists to reduce body roll. The bushing provides a tight, cushioned mount so the bar can rotate smoothly without shifting or rattling.
How it works
The rubber compound grips the bar and absorbs vibration. As the bar flexes, the bushing allows controlled movement while holding correct alignment, helping both front wheels stay balanced under load.
What happens if itβs worn or broken
A damaged bushing can cause clunking over bumps, vague steering, increased body roll, and uneven handling. Left too long, it may accelerate wear on stabilizer links and mounting brackets, and can make the vehicle feel unstable in quick lane changes β οΈ.
