    Why this part is needed

    Gasoline vapors are stored in a charcoal canister. This valve meters those vapors into the intake so they burn instead of venting to air. Proper purging prevents fuel smell, improves economy, and protects the canister.

    How it works

    The valve is normally closed. The ECU pulses it open (PWM) based on load, speed, and temperature. When energized, manifold vacuum draws vapors through the valve from the canister into the intake. A tight connector and heat‑resistant body ensure reliable duty .

    What happens if it’s broken

    Stuck closed: canister saturates, fuel odor, hard refueling, higher emissions; codes like P0441. Stuck open: rough idle, hard restart after fill‑up, rich running; may flag P0455. Electrical faults trigger P0443 and a Check Engine Light ⚠️.

    Install notes

    • Match hose direction (canister → valve → intake).
    • Inspect/replace brittle hoses and clamps.
    • Clear DTCs and run an EVAP readiness test.
