    EVAP purge control solenoid for Mitsubishi engines

    This small electro‑valve manages gasoline vapors from the charcoal canister to the intake manifold. It keeps your emissions clean, prevents fuel smell, and helps the engine idle smoothly.     Why you need it

    The engine computer relies on this valve to meter vapors at the right time. Correct control improves fuel economy, protects the canister, and stabilizes cold starts and hot restarts (especially after refueling).

    How it works ⚙️

    When the ECU commands, the solenoid energizes, lifting an internal plunger to open the vacuum path. Manifold vacuum then draws stored vapors into the intake, where they burn. The ECU pulses it (duty cycle) based on load, temperature, and speed to keep the mix ideal.

    What happens if it fails ⚠️

    Stuck open: rough idle, long crank after fill‑up, raw fuel odor, high emissions, possible canister damage. Stuck closed: poor purge flow, rich spikes, low MPG. Either case can trigger a Check Engine Light (e.g., P0441/P0443/P0455).
