Rear Brake Shoe Set for Mitsubishi SUVs

Restore confident braking and a firm parking brake hold with fresh rear brake shoes. This set renews the friction surfaces inside the drum brake, balancing rear axle stopping force for safe daily driving, towing, and off‑road use.

Why you need it ️

Brake linings wear, glaze, or crack over time. That leads to longer stops, weak handbrake on hills, pedal vibration, and drum scoring. Replacing both rear shoes together brings back factory performance and reduces repair costs down the road.

How it works

When you press the pedal, the wheel cylinder spreads the shoes outward against the drum, turning motion into heat via friction. Return springs pull them back when released. The parking brake cable moves a lever to lock the same shoes, holding the vehicle still.

When worn or damaged ⚠️

Signs include scraping noises, spongy pedal, burning smell, pulling to one side, and a parking brake that won’t hold. If the lining separates, it can gouge the drum, overheat bearings, and greatly increase stopping distance. Always replace as an axle pair.

Tech notes βœ…

  • Bed-in gently: moderate stops from 30–50 km/h.
  • Clean and lubricate contact points; renew springs/adjusters if corroded.
  • Adjust to slight drag, recheck after a short drive for even contact.
