Rocker/Valve Cover Gasket for Mitsubishi engines
This premium rocker cover seal keeps the top of your engine clean and leak‑free. Molded from heat‑resistant rubber/silicone, it closes the joint between the cover and cylinder head, trapping oil around the cams and keeping dust out. Built to handle vibration, heat cycles, and crankcase vapors for long, quiet service.
Why you need it ️
Oil is the lifeblood of the valvetrain. A tight valve cover gasket prevents oil loss, burnt‑oil smells, and engine bay mess. It also helps maintain stable PCV vacuum and keeps plug wells dry, reducing misfires and coil failures. Ideal during cover service or spark plug jobs.
How it works ⚙️
When the cover bolts are torqued, the gasket compresses and its raised beads seal the perimeter and plug tubes. It flexes with expansion, filling tiny surface flaws so the seal stays stable across temperature swings and mileage.
If it’s worn or broken
Expect wet edges, drips on the block, burnt‑oil odor, smoke near the manifold, dirty belts, and gradual low oil. Oil in plug tubes can cause rough idle, misfire, and coil damage. Long leaks soften hoses and attract grime.
Fitting tips ✅
Clean mating faces, remove old sealant, check cover flatness. Lightly oil the new gasket, install grommets if required, and torque in a star pattern to spec—do not overtighten.
