Engine Valve Cover Sealing Gasket ?️
This sealing gasket sits between the rocker/valve cover and the cylinder head. Its job is simple but critical: keep engine oil inside the top of the engine while allowing the valvetrain to run clean and lubricated. A tight seal also helps maintain correct crankcase ventilation and prevents oily smells or smoke in the engine bay.
Why this part is needed ✅
The upper engine area is constantly splashed with hot oil. Without a proper seal, oil will seep out under pressure and heat cycling. This gasket is designed to match the cover shape and compress evenly, stopping leaks without over-tightening the cover bolts.
How it works ⚙️
Made from oil- and heat-resistant material, it compresses when the cover is torqued down, filling small imperfections on both mating surfaces. It stays flexible to handle vibration, temperature changes, and engine expansion.
What happens if it fails ?
