Rocker/Valve Cover Gasket for Mitsubishi SUVs & Pickups

This seal closes the top of the cylinder head under the cover, keeping engine oil in and dirt out. It protects the valvetrain, supports proper crankcase ventilation, and keeps the engine bay clean through constant heat cycles and vibration. Built from high‑temp elastomer, it resists mineral and synthetic oils for long service life.

Why you need it ️

With age the old rubber hardens and shrinks. Oil starts to weep around the perimeter and spark plug tubes. You notice a burnt‑oil smell, wet edges on the cover, drips on the exhaust or belts, and a dropping oil level. A fresh gasket stops leaks and prevents mess.

How it works βš™οΈ

The molded seal sits in the cover groove. When the bolts are torqued in a cross pattern, it compresses evenly to make an oil‑tight barrier. A tiny dab of RTV is used only at cam cap joints or corners. Tube seals and grommets (if equipped) complete the system.

What happens if it’s bad ⚠️

  • Oil on exhaust = smoke and smell
  • Oil in plug wells = misfire and rough idle
  • Slipping belts, alternator wear, messy engine bay
  • Slow oil loss and possible sludge over time

Install tips

  • Clean mating faces; remove old sealant
  • Inspect cover flatness, bolt grommets, tube seals
  • Tighten to spec, recheck after first heat cycle
