This seal kit is needed to keep power steering fluid safely inside the steering gear where pressure is high. How It Works ⚙️
Inside the steering gear, several seals and O-rings sit around shafts and internal chambers. They hold hydraulic pressure, separate fluid paths, and prevent dirt from reaching precision surfaces. With good sealing, the pump can build steady pressure and the gear can convert that pressure into controlled steering assist.
When the Seals Are Worn or Broken ?
A failing seal set may cause fluid leaks, wetness around the gear, whining noises, heavy steering, and jerky assist. Low fluid can overheat the pump and damage bearings. Long-term leaks also attract dust, which can score the shaft and lead to bigger repairs.
