Evaporator Expansion Valve for Mitsubishi A/C ❄️
This precision metering valve controls refrigerant flow into the evaporator, delivering fast cool-down, steady vent temps, and compressor protection. Designed to OEM geometry for Mitsubishi platforms, it keeps cabin comfort consistent even on hot days and stop‑go traffic. 🧊
Why your car needs it 🚗
Without accurate refrigerant control, the evaporator can’t absorb heat efficiently. This valve balances performance and durability, reducing icing, preventing liquid return to the compressor, and improving fuel and belt load.
How it works 🔧
The unit senses evaporator outlet temperature/pressure and modulates a needle across a calibrated orifice to maintain correct superheat. That means just vapor—no liquid—leaves the evaporator. A balanced-port design helps at idle and high RPM. Aluminum body, precise seats, and quality O‑rings ensure a tight seal.
If it fails ⚠️
Stuck closed: weak cooling, warm air at idle, frosting at the valve. Stuck open: floodback, noisy compressor, potential internal damage. Other signs: short cycling, pressure readings out of range, hissing, or leaks leading to low charge.
Tech tips for install
Replace O‑rings and receiver/drier, add correct PAG oil, evacuate to deep vacuum, nitrogen leak test, then charge by weight. Check cabin filter and clean condenser for best results.
