A/C Expansion Control Valve for Mitsubishi Systems ❄️
This air conditioning expansion control valve is a key metering part in the vehicle A/C circuit. It is needed to regulate how much refrigerant enters the evaporator, keeping cabin cooling stable in traffic, hot weather, and high RPM driving.
How It Works ⚙️
The valve creates a controlled pressure drop between the high side and low side of the A/C system. By sensing temperature and pressure, it feeds the right amount of refrigerant into the evaporator core, so the refrigerant can boil and absorb heat efficiently. This helps the compressor avoid overload and prevents evaporator icing.
Symptoms If the Valve Fails
If this valve sticks open or closed, cooling becomes weak or comes and goes. You may notice evaporator freeze-up, vent air not cold, abnormal high/low pressures, compressor noise, or the A/C cycling too fast.
