Clutch Release Fork for Mitsubishi β OEM ref. ME602727 βοΈ
Why this part is needed
This lever sits between the slave cylinder and the release (throwβout) bearing. It transfers pedal force to free the pressure plate, so you can change gears smoothly. Without a healthy fork, the manual gearbox cannot disengage the clutch cleanly, causing hard shifts and excess wear on the clutch set.
How it works
When you press the pedal, hydraulic pressure moves the slave cylinder push rod. The fork pivots on the ball stud, pushing the release bearing into the diaphragm springs. This separates engine power from the transmission. A precision socket for the pivot and a shaped pad for the bearing keep motion straight and efficient. Heatβtreated steel resists bending and groove wear, keeping geometry stable under load.
If the fork is worn or broken β
Symptoms include low or high engagement point, clutch slip, stiff or notchy shifts, grinding when selecting gears, squeak at the bellhousing, or pedal stuck down. A cracked or bent fork can leave you with no drive. Continued use may damage the pressure plate, release bearing, and slave cylinder.
Fitment, quality, and tips
Designed for popular Mitsubishi manuals (check OEM ME602727). Replace the pivot ball and clip with the fork. Lightly grease contact points onlyβkeep the friction disc dry. After install, bleed the system and verify full release. Built from forged, hardened steel with antiβcorrosion finish for long service life. β
