Clutch Release Fork Rubber Boot

This rubber boot is a small but vital seal fitted around the clutch release fork opening on the gearbox/bellhousing. It is needed to keep the clutch area protected from dust, mud, sand, and waterβ€”especially on 4x4 and pickup use where road spray is constant.

How It Works

The boot flexes as the release fork moves in and out during clutch pedal operation. While allowing free fork travel, it closes the gap around the fork, acting like a protective curtain. This helps the release bearing, fork pivot, and clutch mechanism stay clean and properly lubricated.

What Happens If It’s Broken

If the boot is torn, hardened, or missing, contamination enters fast. You may notice squeaks, rough clutch feel, premature wear of the release bearing, corrosion on the fork, and in severe cases clutch drag or difficulty shifting. On wet roads it can also let moisture sit inside and cause rust .

Why Replace It Now

It’s a low-cost part that prevents high-cost clutch and gearbox labor later. Always inspect during clutch jobs or after heavy off-road use .
