Rear Crankshaft Oil Slinger ?️
This rear crankshaft oil slinger is a small but critical engine protection part. It is needed to control engine oil splash around the back side of the crankshaft, especially near the rear main seal area. By keeping oil where it belongs, it helps the seal and bearing surfaces live longer and keeps the engine cleaner.
How It Works ⚙️
Mounted on the crankshaft, it spins with engine speed and uses centrifugal force to throw oil outward and away from sensitive sealing edges. This reduces oil flooding at the rear seal, lowers the chance of seepage, and supports stable lubrication flow inside the crankcase.
What Happens If It’s Damaged ?
If bent, cracked, or worn, oil can collect at the rear seal area and push past sealing lips. Common results are oil leaks between engine and gearbox, oily clutch or flexplate contamination, higher oil consumption, and messy underbody buildup. Replace it during crankshaft or rear seal service for best reliability.
