This internal gear set is a key part of the A/T center differential. Inside the transmission, the center differential uses matched gears to allow controlled speed difference between shafts. The gear set carries load, maintains alignment, and keeps the differential action predictable. Correct gear geometry helps reduce heat, vibration, and shock to the transmission.
