    Engine Oil Seal (Leak-Stop Seal) ️

    This oil seal is a small but critical barrier that keeps engine oil exactly where it belongs—inside the engine, around a rotating shaft or housing joint. It’s needed to maintain proper oil pressure, protect bearings, and stop oil from reaching belts, exhaust parts, or the clutch area.

    How It Works ⚙️

    The seal uses a flexible lip (often spring-loaded) to ride on a smooth shaft surface. As the shaft spins, the lip holds a thin oil film for lubrication while blocking oil from escaping. The outer edge grips the casing to prevent seepage around the seal body.

    What Happens If It Fails ❗

    A worn or hardened seal can cause oil drips, burning-oil smell, smoke, and messy underbody buildup. Low oil level may follow, leading to noisy operation, higher temperatures, and accelerated wear. Oil contamination on rubber mounts or belts can also cause slipping and premature damage.
