Why your engine needs it

How it works
Inside is a precision track and wiper (or Hall element) linked to the throttle shaft. As the plate moves, the sensor outputs a changing voltage the ECU reads as throttle position and rate of change (TPS and delta TPS).
When it fails ⚠️
Symptoms include rough idle, flat spots, harsh shifts, limp mode, high fuel use, and a lit MIL (codes like P0120–P0123). Prolonged driving can foul plugs and strain the catalytic converter.
