Diesel Injection Pump Housing Sensor ️

This smart sensor sits in the body of the diesel injection pump and watches fuel temperature inside the pump. It sends real-time data to the control unit so timing, injection quantity, and idle speed stay precise. That means clean starts, smooth power, lower smoke, and longer pump life.

Why you need it βœ…

Diesel fuel thins when hot and thickens when cold. The engine must compensate. This sensor lets the ECU correct advance and fueling in all conditions, stabilizing idle, improving economy, and protecting the pump under heavy load or hot soak.

How it works βš™οΈ

Built as an NTC thermistor sealed in the pump body, it receives a 5V reference and returns a temperature-dependent signal. The ECU then adjusts injection timing, quantity, and cold-start enrichment. Its robust tip sits in fuel flow for quick response.

If it fails

Hard or smoky starts, rough idle, weak acceleration, higher fuel use, black/white smoke, and warning light may appear. The ECU may switch to a default map, causing poor driveability. Long term, incorrect advance can stress the pump and raise emissions.

Tech notes

Quick swap: clean area, unplug 2-pin connector, unscrew sensor, replace O-ring, torque to spec, clear faults, and verify data. Always keep the pump exterior clean to avoid contamination.
