Water Pump Inlet Pipe for Mitsubishi 4x4 Cooling System
This inlet tube feeds coolant from the lower radiator hose straight into the pump, keeping engine temperature stable in city traffic and off‑road climbs. Built to OEM geometry, it seals with an O‑ring and mates cleanly to the pump housing, preventing leaks and air entry.
Why you need it
Without a solid inlet path, the pump can’t draw enough coolant. This pipe guides flow, supports correct suction, and protects the pump from cavitation. It’s vital for steady heat control and long engine life.
How it works
The pump impeller creates low pressure; coolant is pulled through this pipe from the radiator. Beaded ends and clamps hold the hose; the flange and O‑ring seal the connection. Corrosion‑resistant coating helps it survive road salt and mud.
If the pipe is damaged ⚠️
- Coolant drips at the front of the engine
- Overheating at idle or on hills
- Air pockets, noisy pump, bearing wear
- Sweet smell, white residue around the joint
Pro tips
- Always replace the O‑ring/gasket and use fresh coolant
- Clean mating surfaces; torque bolts evenly
- Bleed the system to remove air after install
