Throttle Body Coolant Feed Hose

This small coolant hose is a must-have line that carries warm engine coolant to the throttle body area. It helps stabilize air/fuel control during cold starts and prevents icing or sticking around the throttle passage. Even though it looks simple, it plays a big role in smooth idle and reliable drivability βœ…

Why this hose is needed

On many Mitsubishi engines, coolant is routed through the throttle body to keep the housing at a safe operating temperature. This hose provides the feed flow, so the throttle body warms evenly and reacts correctly to pedal input, especially in winter conditions ❄️

How it works

Coolant pressure from the cooling system pushes fluid through the hose into the throttle body channel, then it returns through the matching outlet line. The constant circulation removes cold spots and reduces condensation that can affect sensors and idle control.

What happens if it’s damaged

If the hose cracks, swells, or leaks, coolant loss can lead to overheating , poor heater performance, rough idle, and a sweet coolant smell. A split line may also cause sudden steam under the hood and low coolant warnings. Replace at the first sign of softness, wet clamps, or crusty residue.
