Exhaust Valve for Engine Cylinder Head ?
This exhaust-side valve is a core engine sealing part that lets burnt gases leave the combustion chamber at the exact right moment. It is needed to keep compression stable, protect the catalytic system, and maintain smooth power delivery under load.
How It Works โ๏ธ
The camshaft drives the valve train to open the valve during the exhaust stroke. The valve face meets the valve seat to seal the chamber, while the stem guides inside the head for straight movement. Because it operates in extreme heat, correct material hardness and precise geometry are critical for long service life.
When This Part Fails ?
A worn or bent valve can cause low compression, misfire, rough idle, weak acceleration, and higher fuel use. If the valve burns or doesnโt seal, hot gases leak past the seat, overheating the head and damaging the seat ring. In severe cases, the valve may break and cause major piston and cylinder head damage.
