Engine Cylinder Head Seal Gasket for Mitsubishi
This engine sealing gasket sits between the cylinder head and the engine block. It is needed to keep three critical circuits separated: combustion pressure, engine oil, and coolant. When this seal is healthy, the engine can build strong compression, maintain correct cooling, and keep oil where it belongs β .
How It Works
The gasket is clamped tightly by the head bolts. Its multi-layer or composite sealing surfaces conform to tiny imperfections in the head and block. It seals around each cylinder bore and also around oil and coolant passages, handling high heat cycles and pressure pulses every time the engine fires .
What Happens If Itβs Damaged
A failed gasket can cause overheating, coolant loss, white smoke from the exhaust, rough idle, low power, and oil/coolant mixing (milky oil). You may also see bubbles in the radiator or repeated misfires. Driving with a blown seal can warp the head, damage bearings, and lead to full engine failure β οΈ.
