Exhaust Valve Guide Sleeve for Mitsubishi Engines ?
This precision guide sleeve is a small but critical part inside the cylinder head. Its job is to keep the exhaust valve perfectly centered while it moves up and down at high speed. When the valve stays straight, the engine can seal compression correctly and push hot exhaust gases out without power loss.
Why this part is needed β
Exhaust valves live in extreme heat. The guide sleeve supports the valve stem, controls side movement, and helps transfer heat away from the valve into the cylinder head. That heat control protects the valve, seat, and turbo/emission system from overload.
How it works βοΈ
The valve stem slides through the guide with a tight, measured clearance. This clearance holds oil where it should be, prevents wobble, and keeps the valve face landing squarely on the seat every cycle.
What happens if itβs worn or broken ?
A damaged guide can cause valve stem play, oil burning, blue smoke, rough idle, misfires, low compression, and ticking noises. In severe cases the valve may not seal, leading to burnt valves, catalyst damage, and costly head repairs.
