Rear Crankshaft Oil Seal for Mitsubishi compact vehicles ?️

This rear main seal sits at the gearbox side of the engine and keeps engine oil inside while the crank spins at high speed. It blocks dust and clutch debris from entering the crankcase, helping maintain clean lubrication and steady oil pressure. A fresh seal prevents drips from the bellhousing and protects the flywheel and clutch from oil spray.

Why this part is needed ?️

It seals the crank tail where oil wants to escape. Without a tight seal, you get leaks, low oil level, and contamination of the clutch or torque converter area. It’s essential for engine longevity and clean driveway.

How it works βš™οΈ

An elastomer lip with a garter spring hugs the crank journal. Micro grooves return oil inward while the press-fit outer shell anchors in the rear cover. Quality materials (NBR/FKM) handle heat, vibration, and crankcase pulses.

What happens if it fails ⚠️

Oil drip at bellhousing, burnt oil smell, slipping clutch, messy underbody, rising consumption, and risk of bearing wear from low oil. Prolonged neglect can score the crank and raise repair costs.

Tech tips ?

Install square, lightly oil the lip, inspect crank surface, and ensure PCV/breather is clear to avoid pressure pushing oil out.
