    Intake Temperature Sensor for Mitsubishi Surge Tank

    Keep your engine smart and efficient with this precise intake air temperature unit. The ECU uses air temp to calculate fuel, ignition, idle speed, and fan logic. Correct data means clean cold starts, crisp throttle, stable idle, and lower fuel use with reduced emissions.

    How it works ️

    Inside is an NTC thermistor. As air warms, resistance drops. The ECU reads a 5V signal and converts it to a temperature value, then adjusts injection and spark timing. Mounted in the surge tank/plenum, it measures the actual air entering the cylinders for accurate density and knock control. Calibrated for Mitsubishi maps; sealed plug fits the OEM harness. Operating range: -40°C to 125°C. Reference: MD326170.

    Why you need it

    Age, heat cycles, oil vapor, and moisture can skew readings or slow response. Replacing this sensor restores proper mixtures, protects the catalytic converter, and improves fuel economy. Works correctly with both MAF- and MAP-based strategies.

    When it fails ⚠️

    Hard start, high fuel consumption, black smoke, rough idle, flat spots, fan running too often, and MIL with codes P0112/P0113. Long-term driving may foul spark plugs and damage the cat.

    Install tips ✅

    Disconnect battery, release clip/fastener, renew the O-ring, do not overtighten, clear codes, and perform idle relearn. Keep the sensing tip clean; avoid sealants on the element.
