Precision Crankshaft Main Bearing for Mitsubishi Micro-Engines
This precision main bearing is the heart of smooth engine rotation. It supports the crankshaft, keeps it centered, and maintains a stable oil film between moving parts. With correct clearance and proper lubrication, it reduces friction, keeps oil pressure healthy, and protects journals for long service life. ⚙️
Why you need it ️
Every combustion stroke loads the crank. A quality bearing spreads that load, silences vibration, and controls heat. It prevents metal-to-metal contact, helping the engine start quietly and pull strongly.
How it works ️
Tri-metal shells clamp into the block/bed plate. Pressurized oil forms a hydrodynamic wedge that floats the crank. Grooves and chamfers guide oil, while precise crush and alignment lock the shell so it won’t spin.
When worn or broken
Expect cold-start knock, hot idle rumble, glitter in oil, and a dropping pressure light. Continued driving risks spun bearings, scored journals, crank walk, overheating, and ultimately seizure—often ruining the block.
Tech advantages
OE-grade metallurgy, tight tolerances, matched standard/oversize options, anti-cavitation geometry, and smooth bearing overlay for fast oil film build. Install with clean saddles, assembly lube, plastigage check, and correct torque.
