Throttle Body Coolant Feed Hose
This small coolant hose is used to route engine coolant through the throttle body area. It helps keep throttle components at a stable temperature, reducing icing risk in cold weather and supporting smooth idle and throttle response. A healthy hose keeps the cooling system sealed and maintains correct coolant flow where the factory designed it.
How It Works
Coolant leaves the engine’s water circuit, passes through this hose to the throttle body passage, then returns back to the cooling system. The warm coolant prevents condensation and throttle plate sticking, especially during humid or winter conditions.
When the Hose Fails ⚠️
Age, heat, and oil vapors can soften or crack the rubber. If it leaks or collapses, coolant loss can cause overheating, weak cabin heat, unstable idle, or a sweet coolant smell. A split hose may spray coolant, leading to sudden temperature spikes and possible engine damage if ignored.
