    Engine Crank Pulley Damper (Vibration Control) ⚙️

    This crankshaft damper pulley is a key part of the front engine drive system. It is needed to absorb torsional vibration created every time the pistons fire. By reducing crankshaft twist and shock loads, it helps protect the timing components, front crank seal, bearings, and belt-driven accessories like the alternator and power steering.

    How It Works ?

    The pulley has an outer ring bonded to an inner hub through a rubber-like damping layer. As the crankshaft pulses, the damper layer flexes slightly and converts harmful vibration into harmless heat, while the pulley still drives the belts smoothly and keeps belt speed stable.

    If It’s Worn or Broken ?

    A failed damper can cause belt wobble, squealing, vibration at idle, unstable charging, and premature belt wear. In severe cases the outer ring can separate, throwing the belt, damaging covers, or leading to overheating and loss of power steering.
