    Block‑mounted piston cooling oil nozzle for Mitsubishi engines ️

    Why this part is needed

    This tiny jet aims pressurized oil at the underside of the piston to cool the crown and lubricate the skirts. It cuts heat, knock risk, and scuffing, keeping ring seal strong and oil film stable. On high‑load or turbo use, a healthy jet protects power and extends engine life.

    How it works

    Bolted to the cylinder block, it feeds from the main oil gallery. A precision orifice (often with a small check valve) opens with oil pressure and sprays a narrow cone toward the piston and thrust side of the bore. Flow is metered so bearings stay fed while the piston gets targeted cooling. Simple, reliable, and essential for clean lubrication.

    If the jet is clogged or broken ⚠️

    Expect hot pistons, piston slap, light knock under load, blue smoke, stuck rings, bore scoring, and rising oil temps. In severe cases: melted crowns, seized skirts, or spun bearings. Signs include glitter in oil, low compression, and detonation. Replace in sets, clean galleries, use fresh oil and torque to spec for best results.
