Door Lamp Switch Kit for Interior Courtesy Light ??

This small switch kit is a must-have for the cabin courtesy light system. It tells the vehicle when a door is open or fully closed, so the interior lamp turns on at the right moment and fades out when you shut the door. A healthy switch helps you see the step area at night, improves safety, and prevents unnecessary battery drain.

How It Works

The switch is mounted in the door jamb area and is pressed by the door. When the door opens, the plunger releases and the circuit changes state, sending a signal to the body lighting circuit so the interior lamp turns on. When the door closes, the plunger is pushed in, the circuit returns, and the light turns off like it should.

What Happens If It Fails

A worn or stuck switch can cause the interior light to stay on, not come on at all, or flicker over bumps. In many cases, the biggest problem is a slow battery drain overnight ?. It may also confuse door-ajar warnings and make nighttime entry less safe.
