Upper Radiator Hose — keep your Mitsubishi cool ❄️

This upper coolant hose links the thermostat housing to the radiator inlet, carrying hot coolant out of the engine so the radiator can shed heat. A molded OE-style shape ensures a direct fit on Mitsubishi SUVs, smooth flow without kinks, and fast, clean installation. Built from EPDM multi‑ply rubber, it resists heat, pressure, and ozone for long service life .

Why this part is needed

Healthy cooling flow prevents overheating, protects the head gasket, and stabilizes engine temperature under load. Old hoses harden, crack, or bulge; clamps corrode; tiny leaks become sudden bursts. Replace proactively or at the first signs of soft spots, coolant smell, crust at ends, or swelling.

How it works

When the thermostat opens, hot coolant exits the cylinder head through this upper line into the radiator. After shedding heat, coolant returns via the lower hose to the water pump. Fabric reinforcement stops expansion and collapse during pressure spikes and cooldown vacuum .

What happens if it breaks ⚠️

Coolant loss, steam, temp spikes, weak cabin heat, and warning lights. Driving on can warp the head, blow the gasket, or even seize the engine. A sudden rupture can strand you. Always install with fresh clamps, correct torque, and bleed air after refill.

Quick install tips

Work on a cold engine; drain enough coolant; clean necks; orient the molded curve correctly; avoid twisting; refill 50/50; burp the system; recheck for leaks after warm‑up.
