    Front Wheel Hub Center Cap Retainer (OEM MB624908)

    This small but vital clip keeps the front wheel’s center cap locked to the hub. It holds the decorative/dust cap firmly in place, sealing the hub face and protecting the wheel bearing area from water, sand, and mud. A secure cap means cleaner hubs, longer bearing life, and a quieter ride.

    Why you need it

    If the retainer is tired or missing, the center cap can loosen or fall off. That exposes the hub, letting in contaminants that accelerate rust and wear. Off-road and wet climates make a good retainer essential.

    How it works

    The spring-steel ring uses tensioned tabs to grip the cap and the wheel’s center bore. When pressed in, it “snaps” into place, distributing load evenly so the cap stays tight even under braking heat and road vibration.
