What Happens If It’s Worn or Broken ❗
A failed damper can cause excessive bouncing, nose-diving, longer stopping distance, and unstable cornering. You may notice clunks, uneven tire wear (cupping), rear-end sway, or fluid leakage. Driving with a weak unit increases stress on mounts, bushings, and other suspension parts, and it can make ABS/traction systems work harder than normal.
