Steering Tie Rod Kit for Nissan Trucks

What this part does

This steering linkage kit connects your rack-and-pinion to the front knuckles, translating wheel input into precise tire angle. It keeps toe set correctly, stabilizes the front end, and maintains straight-line tracking. Built from heat-treated steel with sealed ball joints, it resists play under load, ideal for work use, towing, and off-road.

Why you need it

Over time, joints wear and threads corrode, causing slack in the steering. Replacing the assembly restores accurate response, reduces tire wear, and brings alignment back within spec. It’s a safety itemβ€”tight linkage means predictable handling in rain, gravel, and highway speeds.

How it works

Inner and outer rods link the rack to the knuckle. A tapered stud locks into the steering arm; a ball-and-socket lets the suspension move while the wheels steer. Boots keep grease in and dirt out. The adjuster sleeve sets toe; once torqued and cotter-pinned, it holds position under impact.

If it’s worn or broken ⚠️

Expect steering play, clunks on bumps, shimmy, pull under braking, and feathered tires. Alignment won’t hold. In severe cases the joint can separate, causing sudden loss of steering control.

Tech notes

Always torque to spec and install a fresh cotter pin. Get a professional alignment after fitting. Best practice: replace in pairs for equal feel side-to-side.
