Air Flow Meter Sensor (MAF) for Mercedes Diesel Engines ??

This sensor is vital for clean power and low fuel use. It measures the exact amount of air entering the intake, then sends a signal to the ECU. With this data, the ECU calculates the right fuel quantity and controls EGR and turbo behavior for smooth torque and safe exhaust temps.

Why this part is needed

Modern CDI/Bluetec systems must keep the air/fuel balance precise. Even small air reading errors can cause rough running, smoke, and higher consumption. A healthy meter helps the engine start easier, pull stronger, and protect the DPF system. βœ…

How it works

Inside is a sensitive measuring element placed in the air stream. As airflow changes, the sensor output changes, allowing the ECU to adjust injection timing and boost control in real time.

What happens if it’s broken

Typical signs include limp mode, flat acceleration, unstable idle, black smoke, poor MPG, and warning lights. Long-term driving with wrong airflow data may overload the DPF, increase soot, and stress the turbo. ⚠️
