CV Joint Boot Cover (Driveshaft Gaiter) ?️

This flexible rubber boot is a small part with a big job: it seals the CV joint on the driveshaft and keeps the grease where it belongs. Without a healthy boot, the joint cannot stay lubricated, and road dirt quickly turns into a grinding paste inside the joint.

Why this part is needed βœ…

The CV joint must bend and rotate smoothly while the suspension moves. The boot cover holds special high-temperature grease and blocks out water, sand, and salt. It also helps prevent grease from being thrown onto brakes, wheels, and underbody parts.

How it works βš™οΈ

The boot stretches as the axle angle changes, while tight clamps at both ends keep a sealed chamber. Inside, grease coats the CV bearings, reducing friction and heat. A good seal means quiet driving, stable power delivery, and longer joint life.

What happens if it is broken ?

When the boot cracks or slips, grease leaks out and contaminants get in. You may notice clicking on turns, vibration under load, and grease splatter on the inner wheel. If ignored, the CV joint can seize or fail, leading to loss of drive and costly axle replacement.
