Engine RPM Pickup Sensor for Mercedes Vario ?

This sensor feeds the control unit with precise engine speed data. Without clean RPM information, the diesel injection timing, starting sequence, idle stability, and emissions control cannot work correctly. It is a direct-fit, OE-quality pickup designed for tough commercial duty.

Why you need it βš™οΈ

Accurate crank speed is vital for quick starts, smooth idle, proper fuel delivery, and safe torque management. Replacing a worn RPM sensor restores reliable starting, stronger pull, and lower fuel use.

How it works ?

The magnetic inductive tip faces a toothed wheel (flywheel/reluctor). As teeth pass the tip, the sensor creates an AC pulse. The ECU counts these pulses to calculate RPM and crank position. A shielded cable and sealed connector keep signals clean under heat and vibration.

What happens if it fails ❗

  • Long cranking or no-start when hot/cold
  • Random stall at idle or during take-off
  • Rough idle, weak acceleration, black smoke
  • Limp mode and stored RPM-related fault codes

Install tips βœ…

  • Mount at bell housing; clean bore and seat
  • Set correct air gap; remove rust on reluctor
  • Route loom away from exhaust and sharp edges
  • Clear codes and perform relearn if required
