    This lock cylinder is the heart of your car’s everyday access and start-up. It’s needed to let the correct key mechanically align the internal pins, so the switch can turn smoothly and the vehicle can be secured when parked. A healthy lock helps stop theft attempts and prevents “stuck key” stress 🔑.

    How It Works

    Inside the cylinder, spring-loaded tumblers match the cuts on your key. When the right key is inserted, the tumblers line up, allowing the plug to rotate. That rotation drives the locking mechanism and/or the ignition switch position (ACC/ON/START), giving you controlled access to the vehicle systems.

    If the Lock Is Worn or Broken
